Fishing Area:

Pump Station, the bay as you pass the KZN Wildlife campsites towards the border, Elephant Bay in 3- 5m of water and towards the mountain near the trees in the water. Be careful of tree stumps and structures that may be protruding from or just below the water level.

Average Size:

Tiger Fish caught during the month ranged from 200g – 6kg. The 2 largest being 4.6kg’s and an excellent 6.4kg’s which was caught trolling using a silver Rapala!

Biggest Fish:

6.4Kg

Total Tiger Fish:

An average of 125 Tiger Fish were caught this month off the Pongola Game Reserve boats. Most were caught on sardine and chicken livers.

Other Species:

A few Barbel were caught while fishing for Tiger Fish, also caught on sardine and chicken livers.

Bait of the Month:

Spinners and spoons were also successful trolling, with the big one caught on a silver Rapala.
